Seattle Company Owner/CEO Defends $70K Per Year Employee Base Salary

Four months ago, Dan Price, CEO of Gravity Payments, reduced his pay from $1 million per year in order to provide base salaries of $70,000 per year to even their newest employees of his Seattle-based payment processor company. Price made this change after reading a study concerning happiness, which concluded salaries in that range have a positive impact on a person’s emotional well-being.
