Comedian Tracy Morgan Critically-Injured In Crash
If you’ve watched Saturday Night Live or 30 Rock, you’re familiar with the oddly wonderful and uber-hilarious comic Tracy Morgan. After performing in Delaware Friday night, the bus Morgan was riding in was rear-ended by an 18-wheeler.
Morgan broke his femur, his nose and several ribs. He had surgery on his leg earlier today and is expected to remain hospitalized for a few weeks. Traveling with the SNL star were his opening act Ardie Fuqua and his assistant Jeffrey Millea who were also both critically- injured. Morgan’s friend and fellow comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair died at the scene. Performer Harris Stanton was treated and released following the accident. Chauffeur Tyrone Gale was uninjured.
Kevin Roper, the driver of the big rig turned himself into police shortly after the wreck. He’s been charged with death by auto and assault by auto after allegedly falling asleep behind the wheel. He has been put on suspension pending the investigation and truck owner Walmart said they will take full responsibility if it is determined that their trucked caused the 6-car pile-up.
Wishing a speedy recovery to all affected by this unfortunate incident.
