‘True Detective’ Second Season To Have Three Lead Roles

HBO’s ‘True Detective’ had a very successful first season, but with season one leads Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson both not returning for a second season fans are wondering what happens next.

NME is reporting that show creator Nic Pizzolatto has said that the second season of the show will take place in California and will have three lead roles.

Pizzolatto has also said that casting will begin shortly and that no one has been offered a part just yet.

“In True Detective, the world itself is the crime. The world itself is poison; there’s something ruinous at work here. The poison at the root of the world is humanity,” Pizzolatto said.

Adding about where in California season 2 might be set, “Not Los Angeles, but some of the much lesser-known venues of California. And we’re going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambience of the place, much like we did in season one.”

Jessica Chastain and Brad Pitt have both been linked to season 2 through rumors, but nothing has been confirmed by show creators.
