It’s baseball time in Texas! The Texas Rangers are celebrating the start of another season of America’s Pastime today in their Opening Day game against the Phillies!
In addition to the weather being gorgeous today, baseball fans playing hookey from work and school will be treated to the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra returning after 20 years to perform the National Anthem before the game. First pitch will be thrown out by Hall-of-Famer and 4-time Cy Young Award winner Greg Maddux, who now works for the Rangers as a special assistant to Ron Washington. Of course, it wouldn’t be Opening Day without fireworks and a special fly-over.
Today’s Texas Ranger’s Opening Day game versus the Philadelphia Phillies in the newly-christened Globe Life Park in Arlington starts at 1:05PM. Tickets are sold out, but there are a scant few left on Stubhub.com starting at $100. You can find more information at texas.rangers.mlb.com.
