Parkinson Voice Project Helps Give Voice To Patients
Actor Michael J. Fox has brought Parkinson’s Disease into the limelight with his public battle with the neurological disorder. A one-of-a-kind nonprofit based in Richardson is seeking to give a voice to patients who have lost theirs to Parkinson’s.
The Parkinson Voice Project uses two programs to help patients learn to speak effectively again. One program is called SPEAK Out, and the other is The LOUD Crowd. One of their current patients is a 35-year-old former Marine suffering from Parkinson’s.
