Mike Modano Shares About Retiring His Jersey Number And Breaking A World Record
Dallas Star’s legendary player Mike Modano joined us in studio this morning to chat about all the great things he’s got going on in his life right now!
He retired from the NHL in 2011, and coming up on March 8th, the Dallas Stars will retire Modano’s jersey number 9 in a ceremony prior to that night’s game against the Minnesota Wild. In commemoration of the event, Modano has book coming out full of letters, photos, and history on the highest-scoring American-born player in the NHL. Copies of his book will be available at the jersey retirement ceremony on March 8th as well as online at retiring9.com.
This weekend, Mike will be joining Zazza & Julie, LaDainian Tomlinson, Terrell Owens, and TangoTab this Saturday, February 22nd at the Hilton Anatole from 10AM to 1PM as we try to break the Guinness World Record for the most people making sandwiches at the same time. It’ll be a great event to make meals that will be donated to hungry North Texas families.
You can register to join in this fun FREE event on Saturday by going to breaktheworldrecord.com. There, you can register to be a part of the world record, and you’ll also have the option of purchasing your sandwich making supplies for $10. If you want to bring your own, stop by a grocery store on your way to the Anatole and grab the following:
- 3 loaves of bread
- 2 pkgs of 16-slice bologna
- 2 pkgs of 16-slice American cheese singles
