Julie Fisk is here to help. If you’ve need advice or want us to hash out a problem on the air for you, let Julie share some of her wisdom.

We get so many letters asking for Julie’s advice that we are trying something new and covering more letters during our She Mail time. Here are some letters that we’ve received from listeners seeking advice:

Dear Julie,
I need a girlfriend’s help on this… My husband and I are having our first baby, and we just found out it’s going to be a lil boy. We are both very excited. We both have wanted a boy forever, and I want to name my lil guy “Jonas.” He likes the name but doesn’t like the fact that it’s also the name of an ex.
To be 100% honest, it has nothing to do with the ex. I just love the name. He says it would just be weird to have his first son named after an ex of mine? I don’t think it’s that big of a deal, but he says he should be allowed an executive veto on this one.

Hey Julie,
Maybe you and the boys can help me out on this one. I am constantly doing romantic things for my boyfriend and I started to get tired of it and threw some hits.
Well, he decided he was going to “cook” me dinner for a romantic evening. I was pumped… and dinner was good… There was one problem. He didn’t cook one thing… He ordered take out from our favorite Chinese restaurant, bought a bagged Asian chopped salad and a bottle of wine.
Love the food, not the lack of effort. It’s not what I would consider romantic and didn’t “fully” enjoy it. Am I being too picky?

Love you Julie and hope you can help,
My husband has always been very meticulous about the way he looks. He’s a businessman, and firmly believes in “first impressions”. I’m a stay-at-home mom, and feel it’s partly my responsibility to help where I can especially in the morning.
Before my husband goes to work, we a have a routine where immediately after his shower, I dry his hair and then use a flat iron to straighten and style it.
I was talking to a friend, and she said that was weird and even more off that he straightens his hair to being with.
What’s the big deal?
