It’s been 24 days, 10 hours and 33 minutes since I’ve had a Diet Coke. It has actually been a lot easier than I expected. I mean after-all, I’ve been drinking it since I was a teenager. Not just occasionally but every single day. I doubt I ever missed a day. Not even when I was in the hospital giving birth. Out came the baby in went a Diet Coke. Well, as soon as I could get my hubby to smuggle me one in.
I decided to give up Diet Coke because of the negative things I’ve read that it does to your body. I’ve heard that Diet Coke has been linked to MS and to weight gain. But here’s the thing. I don’t feel any different. Nothing has changed. I thought I’d at least loose a few pounds because of the sodium in it. But nope not even a pound. I thought maybe I’d sleep better. A big fat no to that too. Or maybe that I’d have more energy or crave less sugar. No and no. There is only one thing that I’ve noticed and that is that I don’t have to pee as much. Well it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. Less in less out.
I’m going to continue down the no Diet Coke road and see what happens. I do miss the taste of it once in a while but I’m not ready to give up yet. Hopefully, something good will come out of this soon. Surely there will be, right? I mean as many people that have told me it’s bad for me must know what they’re talking about. Or do they? I’ll be sure and keep you updated.
