Cheetah Cub Dies At Dallas Zoo; 2nd Cub Health Improving
Our hearts were broken this morning to hear that one of the beautiful cheetah cubs at the Dallas Zoo had gotten sick and passed away.
Kamau and Winspear were born July 8th at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Virginia. They were two weeks old when they made the move here to Dallas.
We are heartbroken by the loss today of our 6-month-old cheetah cub, #Kamau. We loved him deeply; it’s a very difficult day.

According to CBSDFW, both of the cubs had fallen ill with a respiratory infection last week and were taken to the animal hospital at the Dallas Zoo. Kamau’s condition worsened and turned into pneumonia.
Kamau’s brother Winspear, who was also ill, is reported to be getting better. He will surely miss his brother as the pair had a very strong bond.
Thoughts and prayers to the Dallas Zoo and little Winspear on this sad day.
