Santa’s Sparkle Nominee: The Gage Family
We have received 100s upon 100s of nominations for Santa’s Sparkle. From those nominations, we have chosen 5 families who have met with undue hardship this year to bless with an awesome Christmas at our Santa’s Sparkle event on Friday, December 20th, at the Hilton Anatole.
This morning, we heard Sherry Linton’s nomination, the Gage family. Sherry writes:
Baby Hunter Gage was born on October 30th with Intestinal Malrotation, an intestinal obstruction causing twisting and blockage of the digestive tract that prevents the proper passage of food. Already he has been through 3 major surgeries and has many more to follow. Hunter’s doctors were only able to save 12 centimeters of his intestines which has left Hunter facing a long road to recovery and a possible bowel transplant that will require travel outside of the state. Hunter’s family is holding strong but they know that the medical bills are going to be very substantial.
Along with the medical expenses, Hunter’s father, Trevor Gage, has also had to take an unpaid leave of absence from work in order to stay at the hospital with his son and wife at the NICU at Cooks Children’s Hospital. Hunter’s mother Brandi is a stay-at-home mom to the couple’s 2 daughters, Kaylie and Chasidy Gage. Trevor and his brother Kevin Gage have served the White Settlement Fire Department for a combined total of 13 years. This family has dedicate their lives to saving others in need, and now they have found themselves in need of lots of prayers and donations to keep the family going while Baby Hunter takes his long journey to recovery.
We gave mom Brandi Gage a call this morning to surprise her with a Santa’s Sparkle Christmas at the Anatole!
There is still time for you to donate to Santa’s Sparkle! We’ll be at the Hilton Anatole on Friday, December 20th to honor recipient families selected to enjoy Christmas At The Anatole and Sparkle, dine at one of the Anatole’s restaurants, receive spa treatments, and spend the night in a suite. Go to SantasSparkle.org to donate and find out more information!
