Arrest Made In “I’m With Shea” Bullying Case
We’re pleased to bring an update on a story we brought you earlier this month. Shea Shawhan, a student at Plano West Senior High, was the target of malicious text messages that tormented her and her mother for weeks. Her mother, Keri Riddell, started the “I’m With Shea” anti-bullying movement on Facebook, and their page has now garnered more than 80,000 likes.
Yesterday, Plano police made an arrest yesterday at 2PM, according to Fox 4. The shocking news is that the person sending the awful text messages and cyber bullying is someone that Shea and her mother known very well.
Shea and her mom have expressed their gratitude to the Plano police department and their supporters. Riddell warns bullies that sending anonymous messages will only hide their identities for so long as they will eventually be found out.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and having the news that a bully has been brought to justice is a good way to wrap up the month.
