Record-Breaking 1,100-Pound Gator Caught By Hunters

The recent catches of alligators well over 700-pounds are nothing compared to the 1,100-pound behemoth of a gator was recently caught by a hunter from Little Rock. This dino-sized gator could the next star of a SyFy original monster movie.

Huff Post reports that Drew Baker caught the massive gator with a harpoon and wrestled him for 40 minutes before shooting it in the head. He says it was only his second gator of the hunt.

At nearly 14 feet, the gigantic gator broke a state-wide record by 6 inches. Baker was so astounded by the gator that he had to take a moment to steady his nerves before roping the beast.

The alligator is the latest in a line of news-making gators that seem to get bigger the longer alligator hunting season goes on.
