She Mail: Wife Seeks Help About Cry-Baby Husband
Julie Fisk is here to help. If you’ve need advice or want us to hash out a problem on the air for you, let Julie share some of her wisdom.
My husband and I were invited to go to the movies with another couple and I said no without even asking my husband. Here’s why; he’s a crier. He cries at TV shows, he cries at commercials and he cries at movies ALL THE TIME. I mean he was bawling at the end of The Avengers when he thought Hulk was dead, so there no way I can risk taking him to a movie where he might cry. I like that he is sensitive but it would be embarrassing. The people who invited us to the movies are new friends and I don’t want them to get the wrong impression. Am I being too critical? Any other women have this problem?”
Sick of the Crying Game
Dear Sick of the Crying Game,
I’m afraid you’re not getting much sympathy from the men in the room who feel that sensitive guys ROCK. I have to agree, though I understand why you wouldn’t want your hubby bawling in front of new friends. While he might be a little more sensitive than most guys, it doesn’t mean he’s weak. If anything, it’s nice to hear of a man who is so comfortable with this side of himself. If it embarrasses you, just save the movie night for DVDs at home.
