Ron White is best known for his comedy and alias “Tater Salad,” but the Blue Collar comedian and native Texan is dipping his toe into the acting pool.

He stars in Jane Mansfield’s Car, which was written and directed Billy Bob Thornton, who is also a star in the film. The film is about a family whose estranged mother ran away to England. Her English family meets her Alabama family after her death to fulfill her wishes of being laid to rest in her home state.

Ron says that Thornton had written his role, Neal Baron, with him in mind long before they had met. They eventually did meet in an Austin bar.

You can catch Ron in Jane Mansfield’s Car now showing at AMC Grapevine or OnDemand.
