We all know that our pets can produce a ridiculous amounts of hair when they shed. That’s probably nothing compared to Colonel Meow. The 2 1/2-year-old Himalayan-Persian mix was just named the World’s Furriest Cat by the folks at Guinness World Records for having fur measuring 9 inches long!

According to PeoplePets.com, Colonel Meow has taken the internet by storm with his own Twitter and Facebook account. His owners say that the 10-pound kitty “makes a great hand warmer,” also adding that he’s “really fun to watch when he sits in front of a fan.”

Colonel Meow will be featured in the upcoming 2013 Guinness Book Of World Records due out September 12th.
