From Zazza & Julie
Julie Fisk is here to help. If you’ve need advice or want us to hash out a problem on the air for you, let Julie share some of her wisdom.
Julie, I need a little help. How do I deal with crabby, possibly menopausal men and women at work? They are in the late 40’s to over 50’s in age & they are so rude and mean, especially in the morning. Me & my friends at work are tired and we’re dealing with problems like everyone else is, but we still manage to use our manners and be polite to others. This selfish, crabby attitude is making it difficult for us though. I know it’s not right to be mean back…but it doesn’t end! Crab…Crab..Crab…for no reason.
So, what should I do?
Good Morning Sunshine
Dear Good Morning Sunshine,
We all agreed that you need to keep your positive attitude. It’s important to be the bright spot in the office, especially when you have so many GRUMPS around! There’s nothing wrong with trying to cheer people up, like bringing in donuts or treats for your co-workers, but sometimes they just need to be left alone for a while. You and your positive friends should keep to yourselves until everyone else has had their coffee and enough time to wake up. That’s usually all they want anyway. Tony even suggested a “Happy Face/Sad Face” sign you could give to them so they could let everyone know when they were ready for interaction. You should also refrain from bringing “menopause” or hormones in general into the discussion because THAT won’t end well.
Hope that helps!
