This morning, Julie mentioned a weekend trip to the Little Pet Shop of Horrors in which her husband and soon-to-be-six-year-old daughter Lucy came across two dead hamsters. The trip was a part of selecting a hamster for Lucy’s birthday.
Lucy is wishing for the nicest hamster that she can dress up in a little hamster-sized hoodie. After her eye-opening experience in the pet store, she’s now concerned about the life-span of a hamster and if it would die while she had it.
This brings a perplexing problem to Julie’s plate. What happens when the hamster dies? What should she do? How should she handle possible pet death with her daughter?
