Thirty-One year old Cory Monteith, of the TV show Glee, was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver, E! Online is reporting.
Monteith missed his check out time at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia on Saturday and was found alone in his room on the 21st floor. Vancouver acting police chief Doug LaPard said there were no signs of foul play but the department would not discuss what was found in the room.
Monteith checked in on the 6th of July and was last seen on security footage returning to his room in the early morning hours Saturday, July 13th by himself. No cause of death was immediately released.
His girlfriend, Glee co-star, Leah Michelle was not with him and was last seen in Mexico on July 9th, according to E!.
A statement was released by the Glee producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company: “We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
