Much like beauty, cheating is in the eye of the beholder. Many people have a different threshold for what they would consider crossing the line of infidelity. Huff Post recently published a survey of 1,000 adults in the U.S. regarding people’s definition of cheating.

The survey found that 60% would consider it cheating it their partner developed a deep emotional connection with someone else. On the other hand, a separate group of 1,000 adults were asked if they would consider it cheating if they were the ones developing a deep emotional connection with someone outside of their relationship, and only 50% said yes with 29% saying no and 21% unsure.

It brings up questions of what behaviors people associate with cheating. Besides the obvious physical relations, 50% of women and 40% of men consider kissing another person on the mouth to be cheating. Sending explicit text messages is considered cheating by 85% of women and 74% of men. Other behaviors mentioned in the survey were going to strip clubs and reconnecting with an ex on Facebook.

We got some some great responses this morning.

Here’s more!
