Stars Who’ve Bounced Back From Scandal Show There’s Hope For Paula Deen
Things seem pretty bleak for Paula Deen right now. Not only has she lost major sponsors in the wake of her scandal, one of her book publishers dropped her over the weekend. According to the Washington Post, Ballantine Books will not release “Paula Deen’s New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up,” nor will it put it out the four remaining books in her deal. All this in spite of the skyrocketing pre-orders in support of the downfallen queen of Southern cooking.
In light of hard times, many other celebrities have managed to comeback from the brink of scandal. E! News reminded us of nine celebrities that climbed back on top of their pedestal after publicly falling from grace. Here are a few of those stars who’ve made the big comeback.
Hugh Grant - The dashing Brit was caught in 1995 with a Hollywood prostitute and arrested. We still love to see him playing the romantic lead in movies.
Martha Stewart – Martha went to prison. Federal prison. She had to wear those unflattering prison jammies that don’t coordinate with anything other than your cellmate. Despite doing time for insider trading, she still rakes in the money with her Martha Stewart Living products.
David Letterman – Letterman took his scandal head-on with a public confession, during an opening monologue on his show, of cheating on his longtime girlfriend with women that worked on the show. He took on his scandal so boldly that he really left nothing else for anyone to say, and thus no one really remembers it.
Robert Downey, Jr. – From time in rehab to time in prison for drug-use, things were pretty grim for RDJ. His success with Iron Man and Avengers has brought him back to the top.
Charlie Sheen – Well… he seems to think he’s back on top.
