It’s a trend that is right up there with Instagramming pictures of your food; checking-in to every where using a social media app. People alert their friends, and stalkers, to their location and activities through apps like Foursquare and Facebook to show that they have indeed left the house and are moving about in public places.

To the antisocial who would rather avoid those types, there is a brand new app that will let you know where you can go to avoid those annoying Foursquare “checker-inners”. It’s called Hell Is Other People. It’s created by Scott Garner, and it collects Foursquare check-ins for your contacts, lets you know on a map where they all are, and calculates where you can go to safely avoid those people.

According to Geekosystem, Garner says he created the app to safely navigate New York City without awkwardly bumping into friends along the way. It’s an ironic app that requires social media to help you maintain a level of antisocialness.
