An Australian politician is mortified after discovering he’d accidentally clicked “like” on a Facebook photo of a teenager pulling a “Sneaky Nuts” prank.
According to The Guardian, the “Sneak Nuts” prank got its start with Australian comedian Chris Lilly’s television show Angry Boys, in which a character subtly exposes himself in group photos.
The prank caught on, and in 2011, a then 16-year-old boy posted a picture of himself pulling the prank. The photo went unnoticed until the teenager boasted on Twitter about pranking the politician, with whom he is Facebook friends.
In a statement, Collier says, “At first glance it appeared to be a harmless picture. It was a silly mistake on my part. I only became aware of the actual content of the photo when shown by a journalist today. This obviously highlights the pitfalls of social media. I apologise if I caused any offence.”
