From Zazza & Julie
Love chickens but hate chicken poo? Why not clothe your chicken with a fashionable diaper to keep that poop off the floor?
Julie Baker, a fashionable farmer in New Hampshire, was tired of chicken droppings on the floor. She invented “poultry couture,” a line of chicken diapers that fastens over the tail feathers.
According to Huffington Post, the Baker family is involved in poultry shows where they show off their chickens. The diapers were such a hit that people were asking where to get them.
“Everyone wanted to know where we got them — and the orders started rolling in,” Baker said. “I have a lot of customers that keep their chickens in the house full-time, and they love the diapers.”
Her chicken diaper business is called Pampered Poultry, and it helps out humans as well as our feather friends. Baker pays employees at a women’s sewing co-op in the Dominican Republic to make the diapers and picks up the finished diapers once every couple of months.
The chicken diapers come in colors such as Ocean Blue, Parrot Green, and Purple Rust. You can get one for $12.50 as well as other fun items like chicken saddles. You can check them out at pamperyourpoultry.com.
