Mascots are great for sports teams. Sometimes mascots are okay for advertising businesses. Rather than inspire team spirit, a new mascot in Brazil is causing the world to shutter in utter creepiness.
Meet Señor Testiculo (aka “Mr. Testicle” or “Mr. Balls”). The mascot recently made his (its?) debut at a public appearance for the Associação de Assistência às Pessoas in Viçosa, Brazil. He (It?) is literally a huge pair of testicles, but that might not be the most disturbing part.
Max Rivlin-Nadler of The Gawker can’t quite put his finger on what the weirdest thing about the testicular cancer mascot is.
“Is it the pubic hair that is so off-putting or the buckteeth? Definitely the buckteeth. Or maybe it’s the bowl-cut. God, he (it?) is disturbing,” he writes.
Possibly the most disturbing part of Señor Testiculo are the pictures taken in public with children.
Creep factor aside, Señor Testiculo is doing a good job at raising awareness about testicular cancer. A cancer that is on the rise in the United States, according to Huffington Post, and has one of the highest survival rates.
