A friendly reminder that Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 12th. If there is an expectant mother in your family, you’ll want to make sure she gets a gift or two. That is, unless you like staying at Hotel Dog House.

According to UPI.com, a recent survey by EMA New Moms reveals that 60% of women expect to receive gifts on Mother’s Day when they are pregnant with their first child. However, about the same percentage of dads do not realize this expectation.

It’s a dangerous gray-area where men aren’t on the same page as women. While it could be helpful to share any expectations for Mother’s Day gifts beforehand, many women feel like it doesn’t need to be said when maybe it does. Much of the time, men do not experience the immediate life change that women do when they become pregnant. While they are aware of the impending parenthood, the thought of celebrating parenthood hasn’t quite clicked in yet.

We discussed giving gifts to expectant mothers this morning, and Producer John confessed that he messed up on this last year.
