Holly Quartero Reviews First Lady Fashion After Bush Center Dedication
All eyes were on Dallas yesterday for the dedication of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Five current and former Presidents were in attendance and with them, their First Ladies. This morning, we’re taking a look at the First Ladies’ fashion with fashion expert Holly Quartero from Galleria Dallas.
It was an interesting mix of neutrals and color among the 5 First Ladies. The Bush ladies popped with vibrant colors amidst the other First Ladies who wore more neutral outfits. Laura Bush, who is always the portrait of elegance, wore a blue dress with a diagonal detail at the waist. Barbara Bush added a pop of color with a purple scarf to her pantsuit. She also carried a blinged out cane.
Michelle Obama, always stylish, wore a classy white dress set. The jacket had a tailored peplum ruffle that is very trendy right now.
Rosalynn Carter played it safe with a neutral pantsuit. Holly says that we shouldn’t forget to add a little color, and you can do that with a handbag, scarf, or a pair of shoes.
Hilary Clinton may have been the only fashion no-no of the day. Her brown Sargent Pepper-looking jacket looking more like a potato sack hiding her hips. There are ways to dress your body that can disguise trouble-spots, accentuate your assets, and make you appear thinner rather than covering it all up and looking bigger in the process.
