First, it was Matchbox Twenty and the Goo Goo Dolls announcing a co-headlining summer tour. Now you can add The Wallflowers and the Counting Crows to the growing list of nostalgia tours hitting the road this summer.
The ’90s double bill kicks off on June 14 in Farmingville, NY and will make 21 stops along the way in Boston, San Francisco and Las Vegas.
The Counting Crows, whose last album Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation) came out in 2012, will also do a few solo dates including June 19 in Hampton, New Hampshire and July 6 in St. Louis, Missouri.
This of course isn’t the first time the two bands have worked together. Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz sang on The Wallflowers’ hit “6th Avenue Heartache” back in 1996. Jakob Dylan and the guys released their sixth album, Glad All Over, last year after a 7-year hiatus.
Tickets for the tour go on-sale April 26 through Ticketmaster.
