The explosion in West destroyed homes and buildings as well as displacing many families in the vicinity of the West Fertilizer Plant. The human toll is making news as 9 people are confirmed to have died and around 160 have been injured in the blast. However, our four-legged family members have also been displaced. Whether they ran away in fright from the explosion or escaped from damaged buildings and homes, families are anxious to reunite with their furry family in this trying time.

Similar to a page on Facebook after the North Texas tornadoes last year, a community Facebook page has been set up to help locate pets that have been separated from their families in the aftermath of the explosion. The West TX Fertilizer Plant Disaster Lost & Found Pets page is accepting submissions of photos of pets that have been lost or found.

Help families find their lost pets and animals by visiting the West TX Fertilizer Plant Disaster Lost & Found Pets page on Facebook. Go to facebook.com/westanimals.
