Reporting Leigh Ann Adam
An engagement ring that was swallowed by a man trying to steal it from a New Hampshire jewelry store has been recovered by police and is now in evidence.
Ronald Perley, 52, was caught on survalence video swallowing a $3,200 engagement rings at Bellman’s Jewelers, according to the report by WMUR.
Store employees called police when they noticed the ring missing and Perley waited for police, denying any wrong doing. An initial search of the suspect and the store turned up no ring, but video evidence seemed overwhelming and Perley was taken into custody.
Police took him to a local hospital where an x-ray showed the ring in Perley’s body. The ring is now in possession of the local police department.
