My coworker “Jane” is a witch we NEVER agree on anything. And she is ALWAYS butting into my tasks trying to take over as well as throwing me under the bus every chance she can (even though I am fairly new to my job). I have even tried to speak to her about it and she’s just as defensive as a rat. Furthermore, I’ve even had a meeting with get and put supervisors and she just keeps being awful. The tension is unbearable. What can I do?! — “Aide”
We’ve all worked with a person like this in the office. The problem is that all this tension is going to keeping building until something or someone snaps and then someone is going home. Tread lightly if you are the new person in the office because there might be a reason the office bully is still around (and it’s probably not a secret how awful they are). Don’t be afraid to let your concerns be know by sending an email to a supervisor and requesting the matter remain private. Having a paper trail provides documentation for the future when the “snap” happens and either one of you could be in the hot seat.
