Reporting Leigh Ann Adam
An English woman was fired from her job after lying to bosses to get 66 days off of work. Rachael Miles told her bosses she needed time off because of the deaths of her father, mother, uncle, aunt, brother and ex-husband.
MSN UK is reporting that from 2010 on Ms. Miles used the compassionate leave and carers’ leave laws in the UK to take time off work by lying about the deaths of her family, including her ex-husband committing suicide.
In a committee hearing Miles was found guilty of providing fals and misleading information and receiving funds she did not deserve. Ms. Miles did offer, in a letter to the council, to pay back any money owed from any paid leave time.
