After years of supporting Josh Hamilton as a Texas Ranger, his comments as an Angel about DFW not being a baseball town didn’t sit too well with folks here in Texas. 15-year-old Brandon Holmes kicked off a campaign called Silent 4 Josh; rather than booing Hamilton when he takes the field, he’ll be greeted with silence.
This viral campaign has grown in popularity since it’s inception, and today is the day we’ve all waited for. Thousands of Rangers fans have taken up the cause to not give Hamilton the satisfaction of a reaction. They have sold over 1,500 “Baseball Town” t-shirts in support of the campaign.
The biggest thing to remember today is to be quiet, no booing nor cheering, when Josh Hamilton takes the field or goes to bat. Stop by Boomer Jack’s today to grab a t-shirt and one of these nifty “Silence” signs.
