Conspiracy Theory Poll Reveals The Silly Things We Believe
Everyone has that one thing that we think is out to get us, deceive us, or trick us. Maybe you think all sports are rigged for drama and the refs are paid to make certain calls against your team. Perhaps you believe your favorite fast food chain has an addictive chemical that makes you crave for a daily fix. Whatever you believe, a recent poll has found that you are not alone in your beliefs.
On Tuesday, Public Policy Polling published their findings from a recent national survey of 1,247 registered voters. The study found that 21% of people believe that there really was a UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico and the government covered it up. Along with that, 29% believe aliens exist. A more skeptical 7% of voters believe that the moon landing was faked.
While most of us seem to trust what we eat, drink, and allow doctors to see to our best interests, 9% believe that fluoride is added to our water supply for more sinister reasons than dental health. 5% believe that airplane con trails are evidence that the government is releasing sinister chemicals into the air. 20% of people in the survey believe that there is a link between childhood vaccines and autism.
