The Voice Of Big Tex Bill Bragg Talks About Dismissal

Since 2002, the voice booming from the iconic form of Big Tex at the State Fair of Texas belonged to a man named Bill Bragg. No one was more heartbroken about the fire that consumed the towering cowboy than Bragg, and now, with a new Big Tex in the works, it seems like Bragg won’t be back to welcome fairgoers with “Howdy folks!”

In a statement to CBSDFW.com, Sue Gooding, Vice-President of Public Relations for the State Fair of Texas, says, “The talent contract for the voice of Big Tex is handled on a year to year basis.  A contract agreement requires both parties to abide by the terms of an agreement. Bill Bragg will not be offered a talent contract this season.”
