In the current economy, many shoppers will head to a store, shop for the product they like, and then find the cheapest price online. One store in Australia thinks they may have come up with a way to combat this.
Newser is reporting that the Celiac Supplies Store will now be charging patrons a $5 “just looking” fee. The sign claims, “There has been high volume of people who use this store as a reference and then purchase goods elsewhere.”
the sign goes on to explain that “many” stores have created similar policies.
The owner of the store explained why he implemented this new policy,” I’ve had a gut full of working and not getting paid. I’m not here to dispense a charity service for Coles and Woolworths.”
What do you think? Would you pay the “just looking” fee? Let us know in the comments below.
