This story begs the question: how does anyone go 3 years not knowing there’s a knife in your back?
Billy McNeely, a 32-year-old man from Fort Good Hope, Canada, had been stabbed in a knife fight back in 2010. He was stitched up and released without so much as an x-ray to see if anything had been left behind.
Three years later, McNeely’s girlfriend was scratching the scar on his back that was often itchy when her finger ran across something sharp. Doctors finally x-rayed McNeely’s back and found a 3-inch knife blade that had broken off in his back when he was stabbed during the fight.
He plans to keep the blade and use it as evidence in a lawsuit against the medical center where he originally received treatment for the stab wound.
