Oh the irony. Bart Simpson was called to appear in a UK court before a presiding judge named Mr. Burns. No, this isn’t an episode of the Simpsons.

Barton Simpson was arrested for possessing a firearm at the Birmingham airport. In a strange twist of fate, the 56-year-old man had to appear before Judge Recorder Burns.

“It’s a bizarre coincidence that Bart Simpson is actually on trial in front of Mr Burns but it’ll proceed as any other criminal case would,” a court worker said. “There were some eyebrows raised when the court list was published.”

No word on if Chief Wiggum was the arresting officer.
