Most people think that laughing is a positive thing, but the neighbor of Robert Schiavelli would rather he not laugh at all. Why? Robert’s laugh is really loud.

Robert Schiavelli of Rockville Center, NY was accused by his neighbor of disturbing the peace with his loud, belly shaking laughter. Schiavelli considered disabled as he suffers from neurological impairments and sometimes has seizures. Schiavelli and his mother say that the neighbor, Daniel O’Hanian, has long taunted Schiavelli for his disability by sneering at him and calling him derogatory names. Schiavelli says that he was laughing away his neighbor’s offensive remarks.

Sadly, it’s the offensive O’Hanian who is getting the last laugh. He has called the police to complain twice to complain about the volume of Schiavelli’s laughter. Now, Schiavelli has been summoned to appear in court for the two complaints. His lawyer says that Schiavelli will face a total of $500 in fines or 30 days in jail for the complaints.
