Katie Couric doesn’t want  have her new daytime talk show fall in line with all the puff pieces on Daytime Television.

According to the Huffington Post Couric’s new boss, Patrick Ignozzi, is focusing on bringing more hard news to Couric’s daytime talk show.   The Huffington Post says Couric doesn’t want to injure her journalistic integrity by only doing fluffier news stories and wants more hard news in her show.

Couric has had some hard news stories, like her interview with Mantei Te’o the Notre Dame linebacker caught in scandal after his girlfriend proved to be an internet hoax.

‘Katie’ has been renewed for a second season.
