Caroline Gray was awoken by a loud crash in her house. She thought she was getting robbed. It turned out the mother of two had a few frozen balls of airplane waste slammed through her roof.
Talk about a crappy way to start the day (sorry we had to).
In Pattingham, England Gray didn’t figure out what happened until she went outside and saw an 18-inch hole in her roof then inside one the same size in her floor.
Gray now has the blocks of waste, which smashed into her bathroom, in her freezer. “It’s incredible to think it nearly landed in our toilet when that’s where it came from in a plane above us,” Gray told the Mirror.
A spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority said these incidences happen now and then but are rare. They are caused from the planes having a leak that water freezes at high altitudes, but thaws as the plane descends and the chunks fall off.
