A 7-Year-Old Maryland boy was sent home from school for two days on suspension after eating his breakfast pastry into the shape of a gun.
In a letter obtained sent home to parents the school told parents a “student used food to make an inappropriate gesture” and was sent home for that reason.
The second-grader, Josh Welch, told the station he was trying to make the pastry into a mountain and it ended up looking like a gun. Josh’s father called the two-day suspension of his son “insanity.”
Educators have been on high alert about possible gun issues in schools recently. A Pennsylvania teen was arrested for his ringtone and in Dallas alone there have been a number of school lock downs in the DFW area alone since the Sandy Hook shootings in Connecticut in December.
