Wine lovers are shedding tears after hearing the news of an 18-wheeler crash in New York state that spilled chardonnay across the highway. The semitrailer, hauling the wine from Jersey City, NJ to Coxsackie, NY, overturned on the interstate about 70 miles north of New York City.
The trailer actually separated from the tractor, rolled over, and skidded to a stop as green bottle of wine tumbled across the highway. The driver says that the trailer had been rear-ended after he had slowed down due to a blown-out tire on the left-rear side.
The other tractor-trailer involved ended up veering off the road into a ditch, but it wasn’t carry any cargo.
No word on whether straws were involved in cleaning up the spilled wine.
