New Orleans is getting all the attention this month with the Super Bowl this past weekend and Mardi Gras this weekend, but you don’t have to drive down to NOLA to get your party on. Head down to Oak Cliff for wild Mardi Gras shenanigans.

The fun starts Saturday morning with the 4th annual Dash For The Beads 5k run & 1 mile walk. Grab a costume, grab your pooch, and grab a friend to come on down to Kidd Springs Park. Registration starts at 8:30AM, the 1 mile walk starts at 9:30AM, and the 5k kicks off at 10:00AM. There will be a costume contest and a fun-for-the-whole-family festival.

The party keeps rolling into Saturday evening with the 4th annual OCarnivale Masquerade Ball at Kessler Theater. Dress up in your best fancy costume and come out for live music and good Creole food. The Masquerade starts at 7PM and is for 21+.

Sunday afternoon from 4PM to 6PM is the Mardi Gras Parade down Davis St in the Bishop Arts District. Line up along Davis between Montclair and Madison to catch a glimpse of the awesome parade floats and maybe catch some beads and goodies!

It’s a weekend full of Mardi Gras fun that you don’t have to go far to find. Check out mardigrasoakcliff.com for more info and make plans to party in Oak Cliff!
