Who’d have thought that a 90’s pop band by the name of “Kara’s Flowers” would turn out to be a hugely successful band that sells millions of albums, plays sold out concerts all over the world, and whose lead singer became the front man after cutting his hair and showing his tattoos? That’s right, Maroon 5 was originally “Kara’s Flowers,” and they had a couple minor hits and videos in the mid 90s – mostly power pop rock material and very catchy. Some things haven’t changed. This year they’re up for two more Grammy Awards – Best Pop Vocal Album for “Overexposed,” and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Payphone.” The Grammy Awards airs Sunday night on CBS11. They’re also in the middle of a sold out North American Tour, then head to Europe this June for more sold out shows.
