Drinking Soda Can Make You Depressed
New research suggests that the consumption of sweetened beverages can be linked with depression later in life.
The study which will be formally presented in March found that people who drank more than four cans of soda a day were 30 percent more likely to be diagnosed with depression.
“Sweetened beverages, coffee and tea are commonly consumed worldwide and have important physical—and may have important mental—health consequences,” said study author Honglei Chen, MD, PhD, with the National Institutes of Health in Research Triangle Park in North Carolina, according to MSN Fitbite.
The percentage went up one point if those four cans were of the diet variety.
