Another New Year, another round of resolutions. Every year, we make promises to ourselves to lose weight, work out more, eat healthier, and save money. Resolutions are famous for being broken, but maybe we can break the cycle with the help of technology. Of course, there’s an app for that!

My Fitness Pal - Set goals and keep track of your calories with this app. It has a wide library of foods, including those generic store brands, with nutrition information to keep you on track for a healthier 2013. You can even log your food by scanning the barcode. Add friends for moral support.

DietBet – Lose weight and gain some cash. This app takes dieting to a new social level. The challenge is to lose 4% of your weight in 4 weeks and you’ll win. It works. 90% of players cut the fat and drop around 8 pounds.

OurGroceries – If you and your family or roommates are striving to eat-in rather than going out, this app will sync up your grocery lists. If you have to make a stop at the grocery store after work, you can pick up not only your salad for lunch tomorrow but also the milk your roommate added to their list.

LearnVest – If you’re trying to gain financial responsibility this year, LearnVest will help you keep track of budgets and financial goals. You can even sync up your accounts to see exactly where your money is going.
