Like. Whatever. Just sayin’.

The annual Marist Poll has determined those to be among the most annoying words of 2012. The survey polled 1,246 adults over the phone to share what words they found the most irksome when brought up in conversation.

“Whatever” was found to be the most annoying word in conversation according to 32% of poll participants. That was followed by “like” at 21%.

Other words on the most annoying list included “you know,” “Twitterverse,” and “gotcha.”

We just can’t understand why these words are like so annoying or whatever, you know?
