Hollywood knows how we love our apocalypse disaster movies. Whether or not it all ends today, it would be fitting to pay homage to Hollywood’s offerings for how the world will end. Be it by aliens and asteroids from above; earthquakes, volcanoes, and floods from below; or fighting off hordes of zombies or robots, film makers have a lot of ideas on how it all will go down. Of course, humanity always pulls through.

Let’s celebrate with a Movie Marathon for the Mayans with some of these favorite films:

2012: Of course, it wouldn’t be a Mayan apocalypse without the 2009 movie about the Mayan apocalypse.

Day After Tomorrow: We have been experiencing some pretty crazy weather lately.

Armageddon: If an asteroid is going to crash into the earth, you definitely want Bruce Willis to save you.

Deep Impact: The bad news: a comet will take us out. The good news: President Morgan Freeman will lead us through it.

War of the Worlds: Aliens are invading, but not even Tom Cruise can stop them.

Independence Day: It may not be the 4th of July, but we’ll feel safer knowing that Will Smith is welcoming invading aliens to earth with a friendly handshake.
