It’s official!! After months of speculation and a hint to expect big news in December, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge have officially announced they are expecting a baby.
On The British Monarchy official Facebook page an announcement was made. The post said:
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.”
Baby buzz and bump-watches have been circulating the royal couple since they were married in 2011. The buzz rose to a fever pitch when a change in Kate Middleton’s hairstyle last week drew attention to her more rounded face.
According to the UK’s Mirror, Middleton was admitted into a London hospital today with acute morning sickness. This is the first grandchild for Prince Charles and could potentially inherit the throne from Prince William.
The Facebook post also commented on the hospitalization:
“The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.”
