Hunger Games ‘Catching Fire’ Director Signs On For ‘Mockingjay’
The Hunger Games made a change after the first movie in the directors chair. Gary Ross directed the first film but was replaced by Francis Lawrence for the second film from the book trilogy, ‘Catching Fire.’ Now the series will not make a change for the two part finale, ‘Mockingjay.’
E! News has confirmed that Lawrence will be back directing. Which should come as a good sign that ‘Catching Fire’ is going well as they are currently filming in the Atlanta area.
The cast seems to agree as well with the descision. “He’s fantastic,” Josh Hutcherson (Peeta) told E! News. “He’s such a smart guy. He has some great ideas for the movie. I just really like where his head is at. I really like him a lot.”
Catching Fire is set to hit theaters by the end of 2013.
